...a bit slow... but I WILL get back soon! The storks are already nesting. I will try to entice a young pair to move to my property next spring by errecting a high pole with a cart wheel on top. Keep your fingers crossed!

A PROMISE .....

I'll be back...
... with the news of the whereabouts of our storks perhaps...?

THE MOST EXCITING NEWS!

The Spring might be with us soon! The storks are back!
White Stork -
It's the one of the most recognizable birds in Poland.
I will do everything to get a pair to nest on my property when the house gets build. I have already ordered two tall lamp posts - next one has to place a cart wheel on top of them to create a base on which they will, hopefully, build a nest. There are already other storks' nests in the village.-

IT'S WINTER, AFTER ALL...

This morning the winter came back. It snowed from the early hours of the morning. So the joy of the unexpected spring last week-end was rather short lived.- Never mind. We will wait till may.

I am suffering severe effects of sleep deprivation! For the past two weeks I hardly slept! All due to Aussie's imaginary fears. Two - three times a night he needs comforting shaking like a le
af and looking over his shoulder. Now it came to that that he doesn't want the light turned off! So last night we slept with it on!
Tomorrow we are going to see a dog psychologist. OK, to forestall any witty remarks - it's a woman.- he!-he!
He doesn't suffer in any ot
her way - eats well and plays with Filou. I just have had enough of sleepless nights. I can imagine what the new parents go through with a young baby..

We are enjoying the morning walk with the neighbour.

Some idiots are still fishing! Yes, fishing - on a frozen lake that is dissolving fast in the warm sun!

SPRING IN THE AIR????

A first sunny day for a long, long time. Gorgeous sunrise - the life is worth living! The ground was quite frozen still - perfect for an invigorating walk with the boys. The above flowers gathered in the market place are arranged in a container made by my fair hands! In the garden - just little green noses poking shyly from between the old blades of grass.

PACKING....

Three days left to the "D" day! Thinking about packing - boys will have two bags with their cushions, bowls, food, blankets, towels etc, etc... As to my luggage - just imagine how bulky is the skiing gear! What about the photographing equipment?! Where will I put my hats to avoid squashing them??? PANIC! The escapade is carefully planned: part of the team drives in a car and takes all the luggage. I and Anna are taking the boys on a train... prefer that to sitting in a car for a long time. We are going to Krakow and than to Zakopane.

At the moment it's raining... unseasonably warm... will it snow for Christmas? Of course there is snow high up in the mountains but...

WHAT AM I DOING?!?

I always promissed myself never to go and look for the cold - and what am I doing? I am going for a skiing holiday in Tatra Mountains... I am already cold and miserable... I did plan to escape to Africa for a few weeks but instead succumbed to my neighbours' persuasive arguments and am going somewhere cold.-
Well, there was a little more to that actually. Aussie suffered a lot during his last stay in the hotel. I just couldn't face leaving him there again. I am able to take my boys with me. I am sure they will enjoy their holiday too! Just wait till you will see their snow boots!
I am looking forward to nice snowy mountains. Nothing I like more than early morning run through the endless whiteness, total silence...
